2018 SEASON INFO
2018 will mark the 70th season of Tidewater Summer League baseball here in the Virginia Beach area. The Tidewater Summer League will once again be bringing the boy’s of summer back to the area for another action packed summer of collegiate summer baseball.
For the 2018 summer season, the league will be scheduling 30 regular season games, plus our annual All Star Game, and Post Season Championship Tournament. The season will run from the first of June through mid July. The schedule provides for consistent game play, while allowing time for players to practice and continue to develop their skills, providing the opportunity to compete in over 250 innings of quality summer baseball.
In addition to games played within our own league, we will once again be scheduling inter-league games with other collegiate summer leagues, combining to field 11 teams for the 2018 season and providing our teams with a diverse schedule and the opportunity to play with and against collegiate players from all over the country. Games will be played at Lakewood Park, in Norfolk, VA; Marlin Field, on the campus of Virginia Wesleyan University and Trant Field, in Virginia Beach.
The Tidewater Summer League provides a “spring training” style environment, where daily lifting, strength & conditioning, hitting, throwing and fielding work outs are combined with a competitive baseball game, providing our players with consistent, quality work outs that promote development and growth, and that work is reinforced and evaluated daily during the games played. To ensure our members get the most from their summer baseball experience, our players will also receive instruction and leadership from our outstanding coaching staff, with decades of experience helping collegiate student/athletes develop.
If you are a collegiate player, trying to improve your game and take it to the next level, get your work in this summer playing against other collegiate players from around the country, with outstanding and dedicated coaches, while living and playing in Virginia Beach, VA.
**Housing is available for the upcoming season, with players having the option of staying in the dorms on the beautiful campus of Virginia Wesleyan University, and enjoying all of the great amenities, including a meal plan and access to the fitness center and other facilities.
