Daredevils get early lead and coast to 12 – 4 win over Pirates

June 8, 2015 – Kill Devil Hills, NC

Outer Banks Daredevils beat the Mid Atlantic Pirates 12-4 on Monday at PNC Park, First Flight Athletic Complex after a 10-run explosion in the first inning.

Outer Banks Daredevils scored in the first on a two-run single by Julio Rosales, a two-run double by Brent West, an RBI triple by Ryan Creps, an RBI single by Taylor Turner, an RBI single by Hayden Dougherty, an RBI single by Chris Childress, a groundout by Evan Hanifee, and a steal of home by Chris Childress.

Chris Childress reached base four times in the game for Outer Banks Daredevils. He scored two runs and had one RBI.

Bailey Lipscomb recorded the win for Outer Banks Daredevils. He allowed one run over three innings. Lipscomb struck out five, walked two and gave up two hits.

Jeremy Blasiole was charged with the loss. He allowed 10 runs in one inning, walked three and struck out one.

Outer Banks Daredevils got one-run rallies in the sixth inning and the seventh. In the sixth, Outer Banks Daredevils scored on a sacrifice fly by Hanifee, scoring Dougherty.

Saturday’s Games Cancelled

Saturday, June 6th –

Due to unforseen scheduling conflicts at VWC, the league has been forced to reschedule all collegiate league games that were previously scheduled for Saturday, June 6th (Knights vs Pirates, Pirates vs Drillers and Drillers vs Knights). These games will be rescheduled as single mid week games later in the season.

Daredevils edge Knights in back and forth affair 5 – 4

June 1, 2015 – Kill Devil Hills, NC

Outer Banks Daredevils outlasted Greenbrier Knights on Monday after five lead changes, squeaking out a 5-4 win at PNC Park, First Flight Athletic Complex.

Outer Banks Daredevils took the lead in the fifth inning and held on for the victory. Outer Banks Daredevils went up for good on a two-run double byBrent West off Greg Beale, plating Hayden Dougherty and Julio Rosales.

Outer Banks Daredevils would not relinquish the lead as Greenbrier Knights was unable to weather a two-run fifth inning deficit.

Greenbrier Knights scored one run in the ninth on. Unfortunately, Greenbrier Knights wasn’t able to take the lead back.

Dougherty boosted his batting average thanks to a perfect 4-4 day at the plate to pace Outer Banks Daredevils. He singled in the first, third, sixth, and eighth innings.

Matt Carter got the win in relief for Outer Banks Daredevils. Matt Carter pitched two innings and allowed two runs.

Kieran Conway ended up on the wrong side of the pitching decision, charged with the loss. He lasted just one-third of an inning, walked two, struck out none, and allowed three runs.

In the top of the third, Greenbrier Knights grabbed the early lead, 1-0. Greenbrier Knights’ threat began with a single by Sam Barber. An error then moved Barber from first to second.

Outer Banks Daredevils answered Greenbrier Knights’ top inning with one run of its own in the third. Outer Banks Daredevils scored on an RBI single by Dougherty.

Outer Banks Daredevils didn’t give up the lead after the fifth inning. Additional runs came from an RBI single by Rosales.

2015 Season is Here!

The 2015 season of the Tidewater Collegiate Summer League is finally here and we are excited to have the boys of summer back on the ballfield for another season of exciting collegiate summer baseball. The teams rosters are all posted along with the schedule, and opening night is June 1st. Please come out and support your team while enjoying great summer collegiate baseball.
