SUMMER INTERNSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

Looking for an internship in the sports industry? The Tidewater Summer League has a variety of internship opportunities available for students in all business-related majors.

The TSL wants to help students like you gain real work experience in a team sports atmosphere. Sure, the sports industry is fun, but we work hard at developing and marketing a quality product that people can enjoy together, as a family, as friends, and as a team.

Internship Length:

Approximately 10 weeks, during the summer (5/26/2022 – 8/7/2022).

Internship Commitment:

Our internship programs can provide up to 400 hours of hands on, real world, on the job, sports industry experience.

Location:

Virginia Beach, VA – position does include some travel.

Housing:

Housing is not provided, applicants should either live in the Tidewater/greater Hampton Roads area or will be attending one of our local colleges or universities and will be on campus during the summer months.

Compensation:

College Credit for Course Internship Requirements.

Available Positions:

  • Game Day Operations Director
  • Sports Information Director
  • Facilities Maintenance Director
  • League Statistician
  • Live Stream Broadcaster
  • Ballpark Public Address Announcer
  • Ballpark DJ
  • Game Day Staff

As an intern you will be working with those in your department, while also learning from those in other areas to complete your tasks. You will gain experience from a variety of projects such as: sports management, game broadcasting, social media integration, competitive analysis, industry trends, products, market research, branding, and other important areas.

  • Working towards a business degree or related field with a GPA of 2.5  or higher
  • Strong analytic skills, communication skills, and organization skills
  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced environment
  • Ability to manage projects from inception through execution
  • Ability to take direction or work autonomously when needed
  • A passion for both baseball and the fan experience
