Tidewater Hawks 5, Sandbridge Seagulls 1

Hawks take early lead and hold on to defeat Seagulls 5 – 1.

June 18, 2017 – Virginia Beach, VA

Seagulls watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-1 loss to Hawks on Sunday. Hawks scored on a double by Cullen Stockley and a single by Dalton Jackson in the first inning.

Hawks took an early lead in the first inning. Hawks scored one run when Cullen Stockleydoubled with one out in the first inning.

Trey Celata earned the win for Hawks. He went five and a third innings, surrendering one run, six hits, striking out four, and walking one. Ben Mason recorded the last 11 outs to earn the save for Hawks. Connor Woods took the loss for Seagulls. He pitched seven innings, giving up three runs, ten hits, striking out six, and walking one.

Elijah Ervin led Seagulls with one run batted in. He went 1-for-2 on the day.

Hawks had 13 hits in the game. Andre Marchesseault, Dalton Jackson, Tyler Dodson, and Stockley each collected multiple hits for Hawks. Hawks was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jackson had the most chances in the field with nine.
