Four RBI Day For Chase Moore Brings Victory For Virginia Blasters Over Portsmouth Yardbirds

Chase Moore wasted no opportunities at the plate on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Virginia Blasters past Portsmouth Yardbirds 18-4 on Wednesday. Moore drove in runs on a single in the fourth and a double in the fourth.

Portsmouth Yardbirds captured the lead in the second inning. Joe Gross singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.

Virginia Blasters took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Randall “RJ” Safron singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Virginia Blasters notched nine runs in the fourth inning. MooreTyler ThomasDevon TukesBraeden NielsenSean Lang, and Moore all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.

JD Sparks earned the win for Virginia Blasters. He lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Young Sub HanAndrew FelitonJoseph Vargas, and Luke Helmick all securing outs and ultimately the victory.

Luke Verga took the loss for Portsmouth Yardbirds. He allowed six hits and eight runs over three innings, striking out three.

Duncan Newman started the game for Virginia Blasters. He went three innings, allowing three runs on four hits and striking out one
