Four RBI Day For Chase Moore Brings Victory For Virginia Blasters Over Portsmouth Yardbirds
Chase Moore wasted no opportunities at the plate on Wednesday, driving in four on two hits to lead Virginia Blasters past Portsmouth Yardbirds 18-4 on Wednesday. Moore drove in runs on a single in the fourth and a double in the fourth.
Portsmouth Yardbirds captured the lead in the second inning. Joe Gross singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Virginia Blasters took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Randall “RJ” Safron singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Virginia Blasters notched nine runs in the fourth inning. Moore, Tyler Thomas, Devon Tukes, Braeden Nielsen, Sean Lang, and Moore all moved runners across the plate with RBIs in the inning.
JD Sparks earned the win for Virginia Blasters. He lasted two innings, allowing zero hits and zero runs while striking out two and walking zero. A number of pitchers entered the game as relief, with Young Sub Han, Andrew Feliton, Joseph Vargas, and Luke Helmick all securing outs and ultimately the victory.
Luke Verga took the loss for Portsmouth Yardbirds. He allowed six hits and eight runs over three innings, striking out three.

Virginia Blasters collected 13 hits. Jacob Colbus, Keanu Walkush, and Moore each managed multiple hits for Virginia Blasters. Moore, Walkush, and Colbus each managed two hits to lead Virginia Blasters. Virginia Blasters tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Moore led the way with four. Virginia Blasters was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Tukes made the most plays with five.
