Sea Monsters Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Hawks
June 24, 2017 – Kill Devil Hills, NC
An early lead helped Sea Monsters defeat Hawks 14-3 on Saturday. Sea Monsters scored on a passed ball in the first inning, a single by Lucas Terwilliger in the first inning, a fielder’s choice by Dwight Riddick in the second inning, and a home run by Terrence Pinkston in the second inning.
Hawks captured the lead in the first inning. With two outs in the first inning Andre Marchesseaultdrove in one run when he doubled.
Sea Monsters took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first Lucas Terwilliger singled off of Trey Celata, driving in one run.
Sea Monsters scored four runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Dwight Riddick, a single by Troy White, and a single by Joe Lucas.
Glen Pizzanello earned the win for Sea Monsters. He tossed five and a third innings, allowing three runs, six hits, and striking out four. Celata took the loss for Hawks. He pitched two innings, allowing seven runs, four hits, and striking out two.
Sea Monsters collected 11 hits. White, William Oliver, and Lucas each collected multiple hits for Sea Monsters. Lucas, Oliver, and White all had two hits to lead Sea Monsters.
