Norfolk Redbirds Captures Lead Early To Defeat Virginia Beach Shredders

Virginia Beach Shredders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in an 8-0 loss to Norfolk Redbirds on Wednesday. Norfolk Redbirds scored on a double by Max Lipscomb and a single by Christopher Mills in the first inning.

The Virginia Beach Shredders struggled to contain the high-powered offense of Norfolk Redbirds, giving up eight runs.

Norfolk Redbirds opened up scoring in the first inning. Norfolk Redbirds scored one run when Lipscomb doubled.

A single by Parker Burch in the first inning was a positive for Virginia Beach Shredders.

Dylan Francoeur earned the win for Norfolk Redbirds. He allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out six. Tyrin Everette and Justin Durnil entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Logan Simmons took the loss for Virginia Beach Shredders. He lasted seven innings, allowing three hits and five runs while striking out eight.

Burch went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Virginia Beach Shredders in hits.

Mills led Norfolk Redbirds with three hits in four at bats. Norfolk Redbirds tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Ben Berger led the way with six.
