SEA DOGS NAME HEAD COACH

The Sea Dogs are excited to announce that Andy Castro will serve as head coach of the Virginia Beach Sea Dogs for the 2023 season.

Andy Castro played 4-years collegiately at Bloomfield College in Bloomfield N.J, NCAA Division II. 

Andy was selected his junior year to the 1st team All-District, 1st team All-Conference and to the New Jersey, Collegiate North, and South All-Star game.

He was the only Division II player selected to the New Jersey Collegiate all-star game. He hit a career best 498% AVG in his junior year and has Bloomfield’s College second All-Time Season Batting Average.

He played 4 years semi-pro baseball in Puerto Rico for the Cocoteros de Loiza and was named Rookie of the Year.

Andy was the Head coach at Lake Taylor H.S and an assistant coach @ Bryant & Stratton Community College.

Andy also owned an indoor batting facility, Tidewater Hit & Pitch, and has over 10-players from his Hit & Pitch Warriors AAU program, to go on and play college baseball.

The Sea Dogs are excited to have Coach Castro serving as our skipper this summer.

The Tidewater Summer League is a “wood bat” collegiate summer baseball league. Founded in 1946, the TSL has provided local baseball players and fans with exciting summer league baseball for over 75 years. We remain focused on player development and providing collegiate athletes an outstanding summer baseball experience and the opportunity to spend your summer in beautiful Virginia Beach, VA.

The Tidewater Summer League is looking forward to another great season of collegiate, wood bat, summer league baseball and providing our players with the opportunity to gain valuable playing experience after their collegiate season has ended.

With a competitive and diverse schedule, our players will be challenged throughout the summer season playing against the top collegiate players from the Tidewater area and around the country.
