Norfolk Redbirds Falls To Virginia Beach Shredders After Fifth Inning Score

Norfolk Redbirds lost the lead late in a 3-2 defeat to Virginia Beach Shredders on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Virginia Beach Shredders batting in the top of the fifth when Stephen Felton doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Virginia Beach Shredders pitchers struck out five, while Norfolk Redbirds sat down ten.

Norfolk Redbirds opened up scoring in the first inning, when Darren McKeown homered on a 2-1 count, scoring two runs.

Nick Mackedon earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Virginia Beach Shredders. He went five innings, allowing two runs on one hit, striking out five and walking zero.
