Nine Pitchers Team Up As South All Stars Shuts Out North All Stars

July 5, 2017 – Kill Devil Hills, NC

South All Stars defeated North All Stars 1-0 on Wednesday as nine pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Jake Ottinger struck out Justice Bigbie to finish off the game.

The pitching was strong on both sides. hurlers for South All Stars struck out six, while North All Stars pitchers sat down nine.

A single by Justice Bigbie in the third inning was a positive for North All Stars.

Casey Lewandowski earned the win for South All Stars. He tossed one inning, allowing zero runs, zero hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Eight relievers threw one inning each and helped the South All Stars finish off the victory.

South All Star relievers included Jake Holland, Isaiah Junkins, Payton Holdsworth, Tyler Key, Ethan Santon, Tyler Barker, Ted Herbert, and Jake Ottinger, who picked up the save with his 9th inning shut out appearance.

Sam Wood took the loss for North All Stars. He threw one inning, allowing one runs, three hits, striking out one, and walking zero.

Andrew Houde started the game for North All Stars. He pitched one inning, surrendering zero runs, zero hits, and walking one.

Grant Thompson, Andrew Kasiski, Andre Marcheassault, Henry Moore, MacMillion Schoenman, and Shane Gipson all had one hit to lead South All Stars.

Bigbie went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead North All Stars in hits.
