Eight RBI Day For Josiah Sightler Brings In Win For Edenton Steamers Over Tidewater Drillers
Josiah Sightler was clutch at the plate with runners on base on Tuesday, driving in eight on three hits to lead Edenton Steamers past Tidewater Drillers 17-12 on Tuesday. Sightler drove in runs on a home run in the second, a grand slam in the third, and a home run in the fifth.
Tidewater Drillers scored nine runs in the sixth inning, but Edenton Steamers still managed to pull out the victory. The big inning for Tidewater Drillers came thanks to singles by Riley Leadenham and Ryan Long, a walk by Bryce Smith, a sacrifice fly by Hogan Brown, a home run by Cameron Reckling, and by Dane Hoggard.
Edenton Steamers put up six runs in the fifth inning. Edenton Steamers big bats were led by Brody Rubenstein, Houston Wright, Alan Alonso, and Sightler, all driving in runs in the inning.
Daniel Willie led the Edenton Steamers to victory on the hill. He allowed zero hits and zero runs over two-thirds of an inning, striking out two and walking zero. Jared Kauffman and Michael Allen entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
