Suffolk Voyagers Clinches Lead In Sixth Inning For Victory Over Virginia Beach Shredders
Suffolk Voyagers snagged a late lead and defeated Virginia Beach Shredders 5-4 on Saturday. The game was tied at three with Suffolk Voyagers batting in the bottom of the sixth when Bryce Smith singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.
In the top of the fourth inning, Virginia Beach Shredders tied things up at three when Daniel Liljasingled on a 0-1 count, scoring one run.
Nick Rinaldi pitched Suffolk Voyagers to victory. He allowed four hits and three runs over five innings, striking out two. Jared Moore, Hyeon-Ho Cho, and Riddick all put in work in relief out of the bullpen, steering their team towards the victory. Riddick recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Suffolk Voyagers.
Virginia Beach Shredders tallied eight hits in the game. Burch and Josh Gray each collected multiple hits for Virginia Beach Shredders. Burch led Virginia Beach Shredders with three hits in four at bats.
