Two Pitchers Work Together As Tidewater Drillers Blue Shuts Out Greenbrier Knights
Saturday, July 24, 2021 – Virginia Beach, VA
Tidewater Drillers Blue defeated Greenbrier Knights TSL21 6-0 on Saturday as two pitchers combined to throw a shutout. Justin Brown induced a groundout from Lincoln Lubsen to finish off the game.
In the first inning, Tidewater Drillers Blue got their offense started when Ryan Peterson tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring two runs.
One bright spot for Greenbrier Knights TSL21 was a single by Ben Brombacher in the second inning.
Gardner Meeks earned the victory on the pitcher’s mound for Tidewater Drillers Blue. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing three hits and zero runs while striking out four and walking one. Brown threw three innings in relief out of the bullpen.
Sparky Bannon took the loss for Greenbrier Knights TSL21. The righthander surrendered four runs on seven hits over four innings, striking out three.
Conner Butler, Patrick Lundblum, Kyle Edwards, James McGrady, Wyatt Yates, Nicholas Jazkowski, Peterson, and Jonny Wall all had one hit to lead Tidewater Drillers Blue. Tidewater Drillers Blue was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jazkowski had the most chances in the field with eight.
