Tidewater Drillers White Defeats Greenbrier Knights In Elimination Game
Thursday, July 29, 2021 – Virginia Beach, VA
Tidewater Drillers White knocked in five runs in the fifth on its way to a 9-2 victory over Greenbrier Knights TSL21 on Thursday. Noah Roots, Aidan Pinto, Ryan Long, and Jackson Hughes each had RBIs in the frame.
Tidewater Drillers White scored five runs in the fifth inning. Roots, Pinto, Long, and Hughes powered the big inning with RBIs.
Nick Mattfield got the start for Tidewater Drillers White. The righty lasted four and two-thirds innings, allowing one hit and zero runs while striking out four and walking one.
Patrick Driggers was on the hill for Greenbrier Knights TSL21. Driggers surrendered four runs on four hits over four innings, striking out six. Chase Brimmer and Sparky Bannon entered the game as relief, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
Tidewater Drillers White collected nine hits. Pinto and Long all managed multiple hits for Tidewater Drillers White. Long and Pinto all had two hits to lead Tidewater Drillers White.
Greenbrier Knights TSL21 was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Lincoln Lubsen had the most chances in the field with ten.

With their win tonight, the Drillers White advances to Friday’s elimination game against the Reapers, scheduled for 5:30pm at Lakewood Park.
