Tidewater Drillers Blue Claims Lead In Fifth Inning To Defeat Chesapeake Reapers
Thursday, July 29, 2021 – Virginia Beach, VA
Tidewater Drillers Blue snagged a late lead and defeated Chesapeake Reapers 8-3 on Thursday. The game was tied at two with Tidewater Drillers Blue batting in the bottom of the fifth when Avery Byrum doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.
Tidewater Drillers Blue fired up the offense in the first inning. Tidewater Drillers Blue scored one run when Ryan Peterson singled.
Tidewater Drillers Blue knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the second inning. An error scored one run for Tidewater Drillers Blue.
Nicholas Jazkowski led things off on the mound for Tidewater Drillers Blue. The righthander lasted four innings, allowing four hits and two runs while striking out one and walking one.
Eddie Blake was on the hill for Chesapeake Reapers. The pitcher lasted four innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out five. Dylan Weatherly and Alex Lepow entered the game from the bullpen, throwing one and two-thirds innings and one-third of an inning respectively.
