Virginia Blasters Drops Game To Lakewood Legends After Late Score

Virginia Blasters stayed in it until the end, but Lakewood Legends pulled away late in a 20-10 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at nine with Lakewood Legends batting in the top of the sixth when Drew Hill tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.

Despite the loss, Virginia Blasters did collect 14 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lakewood Legends had 13 hits on the way to victory.

Virginia Blasters got things moving in the first inning, when Chris Guiles singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Lakewood Legends scored nine runs in the eighth inning. Brett BishopBrian RapilloBo GonzalesAustin KirkpatrickEvan Keller, and Gonzales all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Azriel Davidson got the start for Lakewood Legends. He allowed 12 hits and nine runs over five innings, striking out two.

Clayton Ditty led things off on the hill for Virginia Blasters. He lasted three innings, allowing two hits and two runs while striking out three. Noah LeBrunGraham BarefootNathan Blucher, and Caleb Davis each entered the game as relief, throwing two innings, two innings, two-thirds of an inning, and one-third of an inning respectively.
