Virginia Blasters Drops Game To Lakewood Legends After Late Score
Virginia Blasters stayed in it until the end, but Lakewood Legends pulled away late in a 20-10 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at nine with Lakewood Legends batting in the top of the sixth when Drew Hill tripled on a 1-0 count, scoring two runs.
Despite the loss, Virginia Blasters did collect 14 hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lakewood Legends had 13 hits on the way to victory.
Virginia Blasters got things moving in the first inning, when Chris Guiles singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.
Lakewood Legends scored nine runs in the eighth inning. Brett Bishop, Brian Rapillo, Bo Gonzales, Austin Kirkpatrick, Evan Keller, and Gonzales all contributed in the big inning with RBIs.
