Bluefish Captures Lead Early To Defeat Daredevils

Daredevils fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 10-7 loss to Bluefish on Friday. Bluefish scored on a single by Daniel Haskell in the first inning, a single by Noah Herried in the second inning, and a stolen base in the second inning.
Despite the loss, Daredevils did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Bluefish had ten hits on the way to victory.
Bluefish captured the lead in the first inning. Daniel Haskell drove in one when he singled in the first inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Daredevils tied things up at one. Daredevils scored one run when Eli Straw doubled with two outs in the first inning.
Bluefish took the lead for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Noah Herried singled off of Ryan Allen, driving in one run and a runner stole home.
Daredevils scored three runs in the eighth inning. The big inning was thanks to a wild pitch and a single by Stephen Polanski.
Bluefish scored five runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Bluefish came thanks to a walk by Cody Steffey, a walk by Jake Odom, and a passed ball.
Landon Sewell earned the win for Bluefish. He pitched five innings, surrendering two runs, three hits, and striking out eight. John Barclay III threw one and one-third innings, as four relievers helped Bluefish finish off the victory. Alec Berry recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Bluefish. Allen took the loss for Daredevils. He went five and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, nine hits, and striking out three.
Andrew Kasiski and Julio Rosales each collected multiple hits for Daredevils. Rosales and Kasiski each collected two hits to lead Daredevils.
Delmarcus Talley, Cody McSwain, and Herried each collected multiple hits for Bluefish. Herriedwent 2-for-5 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.
