Sea Monsters Defeats Fightin’ Crabs Despite Allowing 5-Run Inning

Even though Sea Monsters gave up five runs in the ninth inning, it still defeated Fightin’ Crabs 10-7 on Monday. Fightin’ Crabs’s big inning was driven by a single by John Tierney Jr., a single , a single by Kyle Kania, and a wild pitch.
Sea Monsters collected ten hits and Fightin’ Crabs had seven in the high-scoring affair
Fightin’ Crabs took an early lead in the first inning. Sam Graf drove in one when he doubled in the first inning.
Sea Monsters took the lead for good with three runs in the third inning. In the third Troy White singled off of Jake Thompson, driving in one run and Joshua Nellis singled off of Thompson, driving in two runs.
Sea Monsters scored three runs in the eighth inning. Sea Monsters’s big inning was driven by a walk by Dwight Riddick and a double by White.
Fightin’ Crabs scored five runs in the ninth inning. The big inning for Fightin’ Crabs came thanks to a single by John Tierney Jr., a single , a single by Kyle Kania, and a wild pitch.
Nick Bay earned the win for Sea Monsters. He went seven innings, allowing two runs, four hits, and striking out six. Two relievers helped Sea Monsters close out the victory. Colby Lee threw one and one-third innings. Pat Barrett recorded the last two outs to earn the save for Sea Monsters. Thompson took the loss for Fightin’ Crabs. He pitched five innings, giving up four runs, seven hits, striking out two, and walking one.
White and Nellis each collected multiple hits for Sea Monsters. Nellis and White all had three hits to lead Sea Monsters.
Tierney Jr. and Evan Hirschbaum each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Hirschbaum led Fightin’ Crabs with two runs batted in. He went 2-for-4 on the day.
