Fightin’ Crabs Defeats Knights, 8-5

Fightin’ Crabs took home an 8-5 victory over Knights on Sunday.
Knights took an early lead in the first inning. Bennie Spady singled on a 1-2 count in the first inning, scoring one run.
Fightin’ Crabs knotted the game up at two in the bottom of the first inning. Fightin’ Crabs scored two runs when Ben MacDonald singled with two outs in the first inning.
Fightin’ Crabs took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Evan Hirschbaum homered off of Henry Moore, driving in two runs.
Noah Gear earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He tossed five innings, giving up three runs, six hits, and striking out six. Moore took the loss for Knights. He threw three and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs, five hits, and striking out one.
Fightin’ Crabs had ten hits in the game. Sam Graf, John Tierney Jr., Hirschbaum, and Billy Buscetto each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Buscetto, Hirschbaum, Tierney Jr., and Graf each managed two hits to lead Fightin’ Crabs. Fightin’ Crabs didn’t commit a single error in the field. MacDonald had the most chances in the field with 13.
Knights collected eight hits. Stephen Baughan and Christopher Harper each collected multiple hits for Knights.
