Waves too much for the Seagulls, taking 5 – 3 win and advancing to Final Four

Seagulls stayed in it until the end, but Waves pulled away late in a 5-3 victory on Thursday. The game was tied at three with Waves batting in the top of the ninth when Tyler Key walked Brandon Kussmaul to drive in a run.
Seagulls lost despite out-hitting Waves ten to eight.
Chance Pauley earned the win for Waves. He threw eight innings, giving up three runs, nine hits, striking out ten, and walking zero. Jacob Pilarski recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Waves. Tyler Key took the loss for Seagulls. He tossed one inning, surrendering two runs, two hits, and striking out two.
Casey Lewandoski started the game for Seagulls. He pitched eight innings, allowing three runs, six hits, striking out eight, and walking one.
Seagulls had ten hits in the game. Derrek Marshall Jr., Grant Thompson, Elijah Ervin, and Shane Gipson each collected multiple hits for Seagulls. Gipson, Ervin, Thompson, and Marshall Jr. each collected two hits to lead Seagulls.
The Virginia Beach Waves advances to the final four round of the tournament, and the loss eliminates the Sandbridge Seagulls.
