Bats Blistered As Fightin’ Crabs Defeats Hawks

Both Fightin’ Crabs and Hawks had their offenses going on Thursday, but Fightin’ Crabseventually prevailed 12-7.
Hawks took an early lead in the second inning. Shane Davis hit into a fielder’s choice, scoring one run.
Fightin’ Crabs took the lead for good with five runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Taylor Barkerinduced John Tierney Jr. to hit into a fielder’s choice, but one run scored, Billy Buscetto singled off of Barker, driving in one run, Sam Graf hit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run, and Evan Hirschbaum homered off of Barker, driving in two runs.
Fightin’ Crabs scored six runs in the sixth inning. Fightin’ Crabs scored on a single by Tierney Jr., a error, a error, a single by Hirschbaum, and a double by Zachary Blaeser.
Hawks scored three runs in the eighth inning. Hawks scored its runs on a double by Cameron Reckling.
Trevor Smith earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He went five innings, giving up four runs, seven hits, and striking out three. Two relievers helped Fightin’ Crabs close out the victory. Jake Thompson threw two innings. Barker took the loss for Hawks. He threw two and a third innings, surrendering six runs, three hits, and striking out two.
Colin Selby started the game for Hawks. He tossed three innings, giving up one run, three hits, striking out three, and walking zero.
Fightin’ Crabs had ten hits in the game. Hirschbaum, Tierney Jr., and Buscetto each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Hirschbaum led Fightin’ Crabs with three runs batted in. He went 4-for-5 on the day.
