Suffolk Voyagers Nabs Win Over Greenbrier Knights Despite Early 3-Run Inning

Suffolk Voyagers claimed a 11-5 victory on Thursday, despite a big push by Greenbrier Knightsin the fifth inning. Greenbrier Knights‘s big inning was driven by a triple by Zack Will, an error on a ball put in play by Stefan Lesco, and a double by Scott McDonough.

Suffolk Voyagers opened up scoring in the first inning, when Aaron Morse singled on a 0-2 count, scoring one run.

Suffolk Voyagers put up four runs in the eighth inning. Matthew Staelgraeve and Pedro Mendezall contributed in the big inning with RBIs.

Jared Moore was on the pitcher’s mound for Suffolk Voyagers. He allowed six hits and five runs over five innings, striking out five.

Kevin Restin toed the rubber for Greenbrier Knights. He went eight innings, allowing 11 runs on 18 hits, striking out three and walking one.

Suffolk Voyagers scattered 18 hits in the game. StaelgraeveGage RiddickJimmy GriffinMorse, and South Trimble all had multiple hits for Suffolk VoyagersRiddick and Staelgraeveeach collected three hits to lead Suffolk Voyagers.

Greenbrier Knights racked up seven hits on the day. Will and Tredell Blow all managed multiple hits for Greenbrier Knights.
