Late Score Costs Waves Against Knights
July 2, 2017 – Virginia Beach, VA
Sunday’s game against Knights was a heartbreaker for Waves, as they lost the lead late in a 7-5 defeat. Knights was down 3-2 in the top of the fifth inning when Jay Brandt singled off of Andrew Houde, driving in two runs.
Waves took an early lead in the second inning. Jackson Posnik drove in one when he singled in the second inning.
Matt Polak earned the win for Knights. He went three innings, allowing two runs, and four hits.Stephen Baughan recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Knights. Andrew Houde took the loss for Waves. He threw five innings, surrendering seven runs, ten hits, and striking out six.
Colin Ottofaro started the game for Knights. He pitched two innings, giving up two runs, two hits, and walking one.
