Virginia Beach Shredders Loses Lead Early In Defeat

June 4, 2019 – Virginia Beach, VA

Virginia Beach Shredders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-6 loss to Lakewood Legends on Tuesday. Lakewood Legends scored on a error in the first inning, a single by Drew Hill in the second inning, and a error in the third inning.

Despite the loss, Virginia Beach Shredders did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lakewood Legends had 12 hits on the way to victory.

Lakewood Legends pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Hillsingled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.

Lakewood Legends scored three runs in the ninth inning. Lakewood Legends scored its runs on a double by Evan Keller.

Azriel Davidson was the winning pitcher for Lakewood Legends. He surrendered three runs on two hits over two innings, striking out three and walking zero. Dylan Schumacher and Cody Rayentered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.

Logan Simmons took the loss for Virginia Beach Shredders. He allowed six hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.

Donald Arceneaux started the game for Lakewood Legends. He allowed two hits and three runs over four innings, striking out nine

Virginia Beach Shredders tallied seven hits in the game. Adrian Ty Andrews and Tyler Keatonall had multiple hits for Virginia Beach ShreddersKeaton and Andrews each collected two hits to lead Virginia Beach Shredders.

Lakewood Legends totaled 12 hits in the game. KellerHillBren Faulk, and Austin Kirkpatrickeach collected multiple hits for Lakewood LegendsLakewood Legends was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Kirkpatrick made the most plays with 14. Keller led Lakewood Legends with two stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with six stolen bases.
