Pelicans Falls Against Bluefish 11 -6
June 13, 2017 – Virginia Beach, VA
Pelicans and Bluefish passed the lead back-and-forth on Tuesday, but eventually Bluefish prevailed 11-6. The game was tied at six with Bluefish batting in the top of the tenth when Chadler Young singled off of Austin Elledge, driving in one run.
Pelicans collected nine hits and Bluefish had 12 in the high-scoring affair
Bluefish took an early lead in the second inning. Jake Odom grounded out, scoring one run.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Pelicans tied things up at six. A wild pitch by Landon Sewell scored one run for Pelicans.
Ashton Knutson earned the win for Bluefish. He pitched two innings, giving up zero runs, one hit, and walking zero. Austin Elledge took the loss for Pelicans. He threw one inning, giving up five runs, six hits, striking out one, and walking zero.
Sewell started the game for Bluefish. He went seven innings, allowing six runs, eight hits, and striking out seven. Michael Biasello started the game for Pelicans. He pitched five innings, surrendering one run, one hit, striking out four, and walking zero.
Drew Novetsky and Jackson Peterson each collected multiple hits for Pelicans. Peterson and Novetsky each managed two hits to lead Pelicans.
Spencer Muirhead, Cody McSwain, and Daniel Haskell each collected multiple hits for Bluefish.
