Seagulls Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Fightin’ Crabs

An early lead helped Seagulls defeat Fightin’ Crabs 12-9 on Tuesday. Seagulls scored on a double in the first inning, a single by Patrick Keohane in the first inning, a groundout by Derrek Marshall Jr. in the second inning, a single by Garrett Houston in the second inning, a error in the second inning, a double by Jonathan Santiago in the second inning, a single by Matt Van Muelken in the second inning, and a walk in the second inning.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Seagulls collected 15 hits and Fightin’ Crabs 16
Seagulls captured the lead in the first inning. A wild pitch by Brady Moore scored two runs for Seagulls.
Seagulls scored seven runs in the second inning. Seagulls’s big inning was driven by a groundout by Derrek Marshall Jr., a single by Garrett Houston, a error, a double by Jonathan Santiago, a single by Matt Van Muelken, and a walk.
Fightin’ Crabs scored three runs in the eighth inning. The big inning for Fightin’ Crabs came thanks to a single by Zachary Blaeser and a fielder’s choice by Evan Hirschbaum.
Bryan Johnsen earned the win for Seagulls. He tossed seven innings, allowing six runs, 13 hits, striking out one, and walking zero. Tyler Key threw one inning, as three relievers helped Seagulls finish off the victory. Key recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Seagulls.Moore took the loss for Fightin’ Crabs. He went one and two-thirds innings, surrendering 11 runs, nine hits, and walking zero.
Patrick Keohane, Jordeyn Lewis, Marshall Jr., Elijah Ervin, Houston, and Santiago each collected multiple hits for Seagulls. Keohane went 3-for-5 at the plate to lead Seagulls in hits.
Blaeser, Hirschbaum, Kyle Kania, John Tierney Jr., and Ben MacDonald each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Hirschbaum went 3-for-5 at the plate as he led the team with four runs batted in.
