Fightin’ Crabs Captures Lead Early To Defeat Daredevils

Daredevils fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 5-2 loss to Fightin’ Crabs on Monday. Fightin’ Crabs captured the lead in the first inning. Fightin’ Crabs scored two runs when Ben MacDonald singled with two outs in the first inning.
In the bottom of the first inning, Daredevils got two back as Bubba Ruiz drove in two when he singled in the first inning.
Fightin’ Crabs took the lead for good with one run in the second inning. In the second Sam Grafhit a sacrifice fly to drive in a run.
Franklin Miller earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He threw three innings, allowing zero runs, two hits, striking out seven, and walking zero. Trevor Smith recorded the last 18 outs to earn the save for Fightin’ Crabs.
Ryan Allen took the loss for Daredevils. He pitched five innings, giving up three runs, seven hits, and striking out nine. Ruiz went 1-for-4 at the plate as he led the team with two runs batted in.
Fightin’ Crabs collected seven hits. John Tierney Jr. and MacDonald each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Fightin’ Crabs was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. MacDonald had the most chances in the field with 15.
