Waves Loses Lead Early In Defeat to Sea Monsters.

Waves watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 16-0 loss to Sea Monsters on Tuesday. Sea Monsters scored on a double by Sammy Suarez and a wild pitch in the second inning.
Sea Monsters took an early lead in the second inning. With one out in the second inning Sammy Suarez drove in one run when he doubled.
Sea Monsters scored nine runs in the sixth inning. Sea Monsters’s big inning was driven by a double by Troy White, a single by Lucas Terwilliger, a double by Hector Mosquea, a single by Antonio Leite Jr., a single by White, a single by Terwilliger, and a fielder’s choice by Suarez.
One bright spot for Waves was a single by Brandon Kussmaul in the first inning.
Garrett Wente earned the win for Sea Monsters. He threw six innings, surrendering zero runs, five hits, and striking out six. Jacob Pilarski took the loss for Waves. He tossed three innings, surrendering four runs, five hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Matt Padeway led Waves with two hits in three at bats.
Sea Monsters had 19 hits in the game. Joshua Nellis, White, Leite Jr., Suarez, Mosquea, and Terwilliger each collected multiple hits for Sea Monsters. Terwilliger led Sea Monsters with three runs batted in. He went 2-for-5 on the day. Sea Monsters didn’t commit a single error in the field. Suarez had the most chances in the field with eight.
