Suns captured the lead in the first inning. Jarad Clevenger grounded out, scoring one run.
After Suns scored one run in the top of the seventh, Fightin’ Crabs answered with one of their own. Suns scored when Stephen Polansky singled off of Griffen Tate, driving in one run. Fightin’ Crabs then answered when Billy Buscetto doubled off of Meigs Lamb, driving in one run.
In the bottom of the first inning, Fightin’ Crabs tied things up at one. An error scored one run for Fightin’ Crabs.
Fightin’ Crabs took the lead for good with two runs in the third inning. In the third Buscetto doubled off of Alexander MacKinnon, driving in two runs.
Fightin’ Crabs scored three runs in the sixth inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Kyle Kania and a error.
Tate earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He tossed nine innings, surrendering two runs, 11 hits, and walking zero. MacKinnon took the loss for Suns. He went five and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs, 11 hits, striking out three, and walking zero.
Fightin’ Crabs collected 14 hits. John Tierney Jr., Buscetto, TJ Wardwell, Kania, and Sam Graf each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Buscetto and Tierney Jr. all had three hits to lead Fightin’ Crabs. Fightin’ Crabs didn’t commit a single error in the field. Kania had the most chances in the field with six.
Suns had 11 hits in the game. Justin Bunting, Austin Thomas, and Justice Bigbie each collected multiple hits for Suns.
