Seagulls Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Bluefish

Seagulls jumped out to an early lead over Bluefish and took home a 12-2 victory on Tuesday.Seagulls scored on a double by Luis Diaz in the first inning, a single by Jonathan Santiago in the first inning, a single by Derrek Marshall Jr. in the second inning, a single by Patrick Keohane in the second inning, and a double by Matt Van Muelken in the second inning.
Bluefish captured the lead in the first inning. Spencer Muirhead singled on a 3-2 count in the first inning, scoring one run.
Seagulls took the lead for good with three runs in the first inning. In the first Luis Diaz doubled off of Michael Rojas, driving in one run and Jonathan Santiago singled off of Rojas, driving in two runs.
Seagulls scored six runs in the second inning. The big inning was thanks to a single by Derrek Marshall Jr., a single by Patrick Keohane, and a double by Matt Van Muelken.
Chase Walter earned the win for Seagulls. He tossed seven innings, allowing two runs, five hits, and striking out ten. Rojas took the loss for Bluefish. He threw one and one-third innings, allowing nine runs, ten hits, striking out one, and walking one.
Seagulls collected 17 hits. Andrew Poirier, Diaz, Keohane, Jordeyn Lewis, and Garrett Houston each collected multiple hits for Seagulls. Diaz and Poirier each collected three hits to lead Seagulls.
