Late Score Costs Seagulls Against Fightin’ Crabs

Monday’s game against Fightin’ Crabs was a heartbreaker for Seagulls, as they lost the lead late in an 11-4 defeat. The game was tied at three with Fightin’ Crabs batting in the top of the sixth when Brendan Gausselin singled off of Bryan Johnsen, driving in one run.
Fightin’ Crabs took the lead for good with six runs in the sixth inning. In the sixth Zachary Blaeser doubled off of Bryan Johnsen, driving in one run, TJ Wardwell singled off of Johnsen, driving in one run, Will Sheats singled off of Johnsen, driving in one run, and John Tierney Jr.singled off of Johnsen, driving in two runs.
Griffin Tate earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He tossed five innings, allowing three runs, six hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Two relievers helped Fightin’ Crabs close out the victory. Jake Thompson threw two innings. Johnsen took the loss for Seagulls. He threw five and two-thirds innings, surrendering six runs, ten hits, striking out four, and walking zero.
Patrick Keohane led Seagulls with two runs batted in. He went 2-for-5 on the day.
Fightin’ Crabs had 17 hits in the game. Tierney Jr., Brendan Gausselin, Sam Graf, Evan Hirschbaum, and Billy Buscetto each collected multiple hits for Fightin’ Crabs. Fightin’ Crabsdidn’t commit a single error in the field. Sheats had 13 chances in the field, the most on the team.
