Hawks Captures Lead Early To Defeat Bluefish in game 2 of double header
June 16, 2017 – Virginia Beach, VA
Bluefish fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-2 loss to Hawks on Friday. Hawks scored on a single by Jake Ottinger, a single by Alex Dingman, a single by Tyler Dodson, and a double by Garrett Lyons in the second inning.
Bluefish captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Bluefish.
Hawks took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Jake Ottinger singled off of Stephen Larson, driving in one run, Alex Dingman singled off of Larson, driving in one run, Tyler Dodson singled off of Larson, driving in one run, and Garrett Lyons doubled off of Larson, driving in one run.
Wyatt Brock earned the win for Hawks. He pitched five innings, giving up two runs, two hits, and striking out one. Larson took the loss for Bluefish. He tossed seven innings, giving up six runs, ten hits, and striking out four.
MacMilan Shoenman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bluefish in hits.
Hawks collected ten hits. Ottinger, Lyons, and Dodson each collected multiple hits for Hawks.
