Dylan Francoeur was brilliant on the mound on Wednesday, as he threw a no-hitter to lead Norfolk Redbirds past Virginia Beach Shredders 4-1.
Virginia Beach Shredders got on the board in the first inning when an error scored one run for Virginia Beach Shredders.
Francoeur led things off on the pitcher’s mound for Norfolk Redbirds. He went four innings, allowing one run on zero hits and striking out eight.

Lakewood Legends snatched the lead late in the game in a 12-7 victory over Greenbrier Knights on Wednesday. The game was tied at seven with Lakewood Legends batting in the bottom of the seventh when Austin Kirkpatrick was hit by a pitch, driving in a run.
Brett Bishop led Lakewood Legends to victory by driving in five runs. He went 3-for-4 at the plate. Bishop drove in runs on a double in the first, a home run in the third, and a single in the seventh.
Lakewood Legends got things moving in the first inning, when Bishop doubled on a 3-2 count, scoring two runs.
Greenbrier Knights scored three runs in the fourth inning. All drove in runs in the frame.
Kyle McShaffry was the winning pitcher for Lakewood Legends. He lasted two and a third innings, allowing one hit and one run while striking out one. Hyeonsang Cho and Bo Gonzalesentered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Kevin Restin took the loss for Greenbrier Knights. He went four innings, allowing four runs on four hits, striking out two and walking one.

Both pitching staffs had their hands full, frequently dealing with runners on base. Greenbrier Knights collected 12 hits and Suffolk Voyagers had ten.
Suffolk Voyagers got on the board in the first inning. Suffolk Voyagers scored one run when Jimmy Griffin singled.
Jason Covaney got the win for Greenbrier Knights. He lasted three and a third innings, allowing four hits and one run while striking out seven and walking zero.
Jack Ritzer took the loss for Suffolk Voyagers. He lasted two-thirds of an inning, allowing zero hits and zero runs while walking one.

Staelgraeve led Suffolk Voyagers with three stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 13 stolen bases. Suffolk Voyagers was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Griffin made the most plays with four.

Virginia Beach Shredders fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 13-6 loss to Lakewood Legends on Tuesday. Lakewood Legends scored on a error in the first inning, a single by Drew Hill in the second inning, and a error in the third inning.
Despite the loss, Virginia Beach Shredders did collect seven hits in the high-scoring affair. Unfortunately, Lakewood Legends had 12 hits on the way to victory.
Lakewood Legends pulled away for good with two runs in the second inning. In the second Hillsingled on a 2-2 count, scoring one run.
Lakewood Legends scored three runs in the ninth inning. Lakewood Legends scored its runs on a double by Evan Keller.
Azriel Davidson was the winning pitcher for Lakewood Legends. He surrendered three runs on two hits over two innings, striking out three and walking zero. Dylan Schumacher and Cody Rayentered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Logan Simmons took the loss for Virginia Beach Shredders. He allowed six hits and six runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out four and walking one.

Outer Banks Daredevils opened up scoring in the first inning, when Robert Olah singled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring one run.
Outer Banks Daredevils scored seven runs in the sixth inning. The rally was led by walks by Dominick Claxton, Tre Jones, Jordan Banks, and Hunter Rameriz and a double by Stephen Polansky.
Ryan Andrzejczyk took the win for Outer Banks Daredevils. He lasted four innings, allowing two hits and one run while striking out four and walking one. Joey Rodriquez and Frank Arnoldentered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Robert McDaniel took the loss for Portsmouth Yardbirds. He allowed two hits and three runs over two innings, striking out three.

Tuesday’s game against Norfolk Redbirds was a heart breaker for Virginia Blasters, as they lost the lead late in an 18-10 defeat. The game was tied at ten with Norfolk Redbirds batting in the top of the ninth when Max Lipscomb singled on a 1-1 count, scoring two runs.
Chris Guiles collected four hits in defeat. Guiles singled in the first, singled in the third, singled in the fifth, and singled in the eighth.
In the second inning, Virginia Blasters got their offense started. Virginia Blasters scored one run when Jacob Colbus doubled.
In the bottom of the eighth inning, Virginia Blasters tied things up at ten. An error scored one run for Virginia Blasters.
Virginia Blasters notched four runs in the fifth inning. The offensive onslaught came from a walk by Keanu Walkush, a single by Guiles, and by Patrick Blackall.
Davis Gurosky earned the victory on the hill for Norfolk Redbirds. He lasted two innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out two. Christian Maloney and Marco Quintero entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
Duncan Newman took the loss for Virginia Blasters. He went two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs on three hits and striking out three.
