Suns watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 10-7 loss to Waves on Wednesday. Waves scored on a single by Matt Padeway, a single by Jonathan Lindau, and a groundout by Collin Porter in the first inning.
Suns collected 12 hits and Waves had 13 in the high-scoring affair

Bluefish took the lead for good in the third inning to capture a back-and-forth game from Sunsby a 12-8 score on Tuesday. The game was tied at four with Bluefish batting in the bottom of the third when Lane Madsen walked Brelin Carroll to drive in a run.

Waves Falls In Back-And-Forth Affair Against Fightin’ Crabs

Waves and Fightin’ Crabs played a tight game, but Fightin’ Crabs pulled out the 13-9 victory on Tuesday. The game was tied at eight with Fightin’ Crabs batting in the top of the seventh when Kyle Kania singled off of Chandler Sulcer, driving in one run.
Waves lost despite out-hitting Fightin’ Crabs ten to nine.
Fightin’ Crabs took an early lead in the first inning. Evan Hirschbaum doubled on the first pitch of the at bat in the first inning, scoring one run.
Waves scored four runs in the fourth inning. Waves scored on a error, a single by Chandler Sulcer, and a double by Brandon Kussmaul.
Musawenkosi Matiwane earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He pitched three innings, giving up four runs, four hits, and striking out one. Sulcer took the loss for Waves. He threw two and two-thirds innings, allowing five runs, four hits, and striking out two.
Brady Moore started the game for Fightin’ Crabs. He pitched three innings, surrendering four runs, and three hits. Brian Vieira started the game for Waves. He threw two innings, allowing one run, one hit, and walking one.
Home runs for Fightin’ Crabs came when Hirschbaum homered in the seventh inning and Joseph Holguin homered in the seventh inning.
Waves had ten hits in the game. Kevin Roberts, Kussmaul, and Sulcer each collected multiple hits for Waves. Kussmaul led Waves with three runs batted in. He went 2-for-4 on the day.

Sea Monsters Jumps Out To Early Lead In Victory Over Seagulls
July 11, 2017 – Virginia Beach, VA
An early lead helped Sea Monsters defeat Seagulls 5-2 on Tuesday. Sea Monsters scored on a triple by Terrence Pinkston and a single by Lucas Terwilliger in the first inning.
Sea Monsters captured the lead in the first inning. Sea Monsters scored two runs when Terrence Pinkston tripled with zero outs in the first inning.
Tyrin Everette earned the win for Sea Monsters. He tossed seven innings, surrendering two runs, eight hits, and striking out seven. Nick Ott recorded the last six outs to earn the save for Sea Monsters. Andrew Griffin took the loss for Seagulls. He went six and two-thirds innings, giving up five runs, seven hits, and striking out seven.
Sea Monsters collected seven hits. William Oliver and Pinkston each collected multiple hits for Sea Monsters. Oliver went 3-for-4 at the plate to lead Sea Monsters in hits. Sea Monsters didn’t commit a single error in the field. Corbin Townsend had nine chances in the field, the most on the team.
Seagulls had nine hits in the game. Luis Diaz and Jonathan Santiago each collected multiple hits for Seagulls.
The Portsmouth Sea Monsters finish the regular season with a 15 – 12 record while the Sandbridge Seagulls finish the regular season in first place with a 19 – 8 record.

Even though Sea Monsters gave up four runs in the first inning, it still defeated Hawks 7-4 on Monday. The big inning for Hawks came thanks to a single by Garrett Lyons and a double by Dalton Jackson.

Sea Monsters took the lead for good with two runs in the fifth inning. In the fifth Troy Whitesingled off of Lyons, driving in one run and a runner stole home.

Burrell’s Walkoff Gives Pelicans Victory Over Bluefish

Pelicans defeated Bluefish 11-10 on Monday thanks to a walk-off double. The game was tied at ten with Pelicans batting in the bottom of the twelfth when Justin Burrell doubled off of Kevin Beckert, driving in one run.
Both offenses were strong at the plate as Pelicans collected 16 hits and Bluefish ten

Stephen Larson started the game for Bluefish. He pitched five innings, surrendering three runs, and six hits. Danny Madden started the game for Pelicans. He threw one and two-thirds innings, allowing four runs, one hit, and striking out two.
Jackson Peterson, Burrell, Harrison Sabo, and Crummer each collected multiple hits for Pelicans. Burrell went 3-for-6 at the plate as he led the team with three runs batted in.
