Hawks take early lead and hold on to defeat Seagulls 5 – 1.

Seagulls watched the game slip away early and couldn’t recover in a 5-1 loss to Hawks on Sunday. Hawks scored on a double by Cullen Stockley and a single by Dalton Jackson in the first inning.
Hawks took an early lead in the first inning. Hawks scored one run when Cullen Stockleydoubled with one out in the first inning.
Trey Celata earned the win for Hawks. He went five and a third innings, surrendering one run, six hits, striking out four, and walking one. Ben Mason recorded the last 11 outs to earn the save for Hawks. Connor Woods took the loss for Seagulls. He pitched seven innings, giving up three runs, ten hits, striking out six, and walking one.
Elijah Ervin led Seagulls with one run batted in. He went 1-for-2 on the day.
Hawks had 13 hits in the game. Andre Marchesseault, Dalton Jackson, Tyler Dodson, and Stockley each collected multiple hits for Hawks. Hawks was sure-handed in the field and didn’t commit a single error. Jackson had the most chances in the field with nine.

Andrew Houde didn’t allow a single run as Waves defeated Knights 5-0 on Sunday. Houde allowed just six hits and struck out Jay Brandt to end the game.
A double by Zachary Herring in the second inning was a positive for Knights.

Sea Monsters couldn’t keep up with Pelicans and fell 8-2 on Sunday.
Pelicans scored three runs in the seventh inning. The big inning for Pelicans came thanks to a double by Harrison Sabo and a walk.
Cody Burnham earned the win for Pelicans. He threw nine innings, allowing two runs, five hits, striking out three, and walking zero. Tyghe Bowers took the loss for Sea Monsters. He pitched five innings, allowing two runs, five hits, striking out four, and walking one.
Lucas Terwilliger and Tyrin Everette each drove in one run to lead Sea Monsters.
Pelicans collected nine hits. Drew Novetsky and Sabo each collected multiple hits for Pelicans.

Bluefish lost the lead late in a 4-3 defeat to Fightin’ Crabs on Sunday. Fightin’ Crabs was down 2-1 in the top of the eighth inning when John Tierney Jr. tripled off of Ashton Knutson, driving in two runs.
Fightin’ Crabs took an early lead in the first inning. Fightin’ Crabs scored one run when Ben MacDonald singled with two outs in the first inning.
Bluefish evened things up at one in the bottom of the fourth inning. A wild pitch by Trevor Smith scored one run for Bluefish.
Franklin Miller earned the win for Fightin’ Crabs. He threw four innings, giving up one run, two hits, and striking out one. Ashton Knutson took the loss for Bluefish. He pitched one inning, giving up three runs, two hits, striking out three, and walking one.
Trevor Lloyd started the game for Bluefish. He threw seven innings, allowing one run, six hits, and striking out four. Smith started the game for Fightin’ Crabs. He pitched four innings, allowing one run, three hits, and striking out three.

Hawks Captures Lead Early To Defeat Bluefish in game 2 of double header

Bluefish fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 6-2 loss to Hawks on Friday. Hawks scored on a single by Jake Ottinger, a single by Alex Dingman, a single by Tyler Dodson, and a double by Garrett Lyons in the second inning.
Bluefish captured the lead in the first inning. An error scored one run for Bluefish.
Hawks took the lead for good with four runs in the second inning. In the second Jake Ottinger singled off of Stephen Larson, driving in one run, Alex Dingman singled off of Larson, driving in one run, Tyler Dodson singled off of Larson, driving in one run, and Garrett Lyons doubled off of Larson, driving in one run.
Wyatt Brock earned the win for Hawks. He pitched five innings, giving up two runs, two hits, and striking out one. Larson took the loss for Bluefish. He tossed seven innings, giving up six runs, ten hits, and striking out four.
MacMilan Shoenman went 2-for-3 at the plate to lead Bluefish in hits.

Bluefish Can’t Hold Up Against Hawks in game 1 of double header

Friday was a long day for Bluefish, as it fell to Hawks 14-2.
Bluefish captured the lead in the first inning. Cody McSwain singled on a 1-1 count in the first inning, scoring one run.
Hawks took the lead for good with eight runs in the third inning. In the third there was an error, scoring one run, Richard De La Cruz singled off of John Barclay III, driving in one run, Wyatt Brock singled off of Barclay III, driving in two runs, Barclay III walked Tyler Dodson to drive in a run, Andrew Teixeira singled off of Barclay III, driving in one run, Cullen Stockley singled off of Barclay III, driving in one run, and Barclay III walked Andre Marchesseault to drive in a run.
Taylor Barker earned the win for Hawks. He went six innings, giving up one run, five hits, striking out six, and walking one. Barclay III took the loss for Bluefish. He threw two and two-thirds innings, giving up eight runs, eight hits, and striking out three.
Ashton Knutson, Noah Herried, McSwain, Michael Rojas, and MacMilan Shoenman all had one hit to lead Bluefish.
Hawks collected 15 hits. Teixeira, De La Cruz, Stockley, Marchesseault, and Dodson each collected multiple hits for Hawks. Teixeira went 4-for-5 at the plate to lead Hawks in hits. Hawks didn’t commit a single error in the field. Dodson had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Knights Defeat Daredevils in inaugural Ocracoke Island Benefit Game
June 15, 2017 – Ocracoke Island, NC
Daredevils fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 14-2 loss to Knights on Thursday.Knights scored on a single by Jeff Butler and a groundout by Chris Henderson in the second inning.
Knights captured the lead in the second inning. With one out in the second inning Jeff Butlerdrove in one run when he singled.
Knights scored five runs in the sixth inning. The big inning for Knights came thanks to a single by Butler and a grand slam by Bennie Spady.
Daredevils collected eight hits. Damian Hairston and Andrew Kasiski each collected multiple hits for Daredevils. Ryan Creps and Hairston each drove in one run to lead Daredevils.
Knights had 15 hits in the game. Butler, Nick Lees, Spady, TJ Wynkoop, and Jay Brandt each collected multiple hits for Knights.
Despite the loss, it was a great day of baseball, a beautiful drive down historic Rt. 12 through Hatteras Island, a sweet ferry ride over to Ocracoke Island (with special thanks to Jed Dixon), a fantastic crowd, an excellent facility for baseball, great concessions, a day of family fun with our friends in Ocracoke, a great post game meal at Gaffers (Thanks Red), with great live entertainment, and the net proceeds from the game went to benefit a great cause. Keohane Collects Four Hits As Seagulls Defeats Waves

Four hits from Patrick Keohane helped lead Seagulls past Waves 12-2 on Thursday. Keohane singled in the first, doubled in the second, singled in the fourth, singled in the fifth, and walked in the sixth.
Seagulls grabbed an early lead. Seagulls scored on a double by Elijah Ervin and a double by Patrick Keohane in the second inning.
Seagulls took an early lead in the second inning. Ervin doubled on a 1-0 count in the second inning, scoring one run.
Seagulls scored seven runs in the fifth inning. Seagulls scored on a single by Keohane, a single by Derrek Marshall Jr., and a single.
Casey Lewandoski earned the win for Seagulls. He threw five innings, allowing two runs, four hits, striking out seven, and walking one. Two relievers helped Seagulls close out the victory. Tyler Key threw one inning. Brian Vieira took the loss for Waves. He went four and two-thirds innings, giving up nine runs, nine hits, and striking out five.
Seagulls had 11 hits in the game. Keohane and Andrew Poirier each collected multiple hits for Seagulls. Seagulls was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Garrett Houston made the most plays with ten.

Pelicans and Suns traded the lead back-and-forth on Thursday, but eventually Pelicans prevailed 5-4. Pelicans took the lead for good in the eighth inning. The game was tied at four with Pelicans batting in the bottom of the eighth when Pat Downey doubled off of Eric O’Brien, driving in one run.
Suns took an early lead in the first inning. Brad Pearson’s sac fly scored one run for Suns.
In the bottom of the seventh inning, Pelicans tied things up at four. Pelicans scored one run when Josh Crummer singled with two outs in the seventh inning.
Ean Walda earned the win for Pelicans. He went eight innings, surrendering four runs, eight hits, and striking out eight. Joe Klingensmith recorded the last three outs to earn the save for Pelicans. Eric O’Brien took the loss for Suns. He threw seven and two-thirds innings, surrendering five runs, 13 hits, striking out eight, and walking one.
Pelicans had 13 hits in the game. Christopher Iocca, Crummer, Klingensmith, and Justin Hayes each collected multiple hits for Pelicans. Iocca led Pelicans with three hits in three at bats.
